A young lady needs a new housemate

Gemma is a young 36 year old who has lived in her own adapted bungalow in Witney with a similarly disabled friend and housemate for 16 years. Very sadly Gemma is now on her own and needs to find the perfect fit once again.

Gemma has profound learning and some physical disabilities and uses a wheelchair to get about. She enjoys sensory activities and a sensory garden and is supported by a wonderful team of carers. Gemma is looking for somebody, preferably a younger female to share her lovely home. The person will contribute financially to the running of the home in partnership with Gemma. Gemma’s family are very active and supportive. An important consideration would be the willingness of the person’s family to work in partnership with staff and family.

Gemma has a direct payment and one to one support. She has a staff member sleeping in. She has a motability wheelchair adapted vehicle which she shared with her housemate. She is gentle, relaxed and quiet but physically vulnerable so would need somebody who would be easy to get along with. She enjoys swimming, carriage riding, sailing, the theatre and cinema trips, trampolining, holidays, and many other pursuits. She also enjoys her own space and peaceful times.
