Please see the attached flyer about a free training event funded through the remaining National Valuing Families Forum South East and London Region funding (The Government withdrew funding for the National Valuing Families Forum and the National Forum - which were forums for family carers and for people with learning disabilities). The regional forum decided to run one last workshop on a topic that may be helpful to families.
Who is it aimed at?
It is aimed at family carers of people with learning disabilities
What’s it about?
“Learn With Us – Working in Partnership with Family Carers”
is a unique innovative film and training workshop about the complex relationships between families and the staff who work with their learning disabled relatives.
Genuine and rewarding partnership between family carers and services requires good support and training for staff. Islington Family Carers, in co-production with Islington’s Learning Disabilities Partnership and Centre 404, worked with Loaded Productions to make the film and create a training resource designed to respond to that learning need.
We invite you to find out about “Learn With Us” by viewing the film and taking part in the workshop. It will be facilitated by Clare Palmer and Mark Austin, Family Carers, and Catherine Wordsworth, Family Involvement Officer at Centre 404.
