Training for school staff supporting children with Down's Syndrome, 27th September 2018

An introduction to teaching and supporting children with Down’s Syndrome is being run by SEN Support Services this September.

The aim of the course is to equip school staff (SENCOs, Teachers and Teaching Assistants) with detailed knowledge of the specific learning profile of children with Down Syndrome and how to support their learning needs.

Course Objectives:
Develop understanding of the specific learning profile of children with Down Syndrome
Strategies to support reading, writing and maths
Functional and positive approaches to behaviour management and the importance of visual supports

Time: 9.30 – 3.00 (Registration and refreshments from 9.15am)
