The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care are looking for applications from service users and carers to be part of the committee that will develop guidance about the care and support of older people with learning disabilities.

The key focus of the guideline will be how care and support is delivered for older people with learning disabilities.

Members of this committee will play a key role in making sure that the views of service users and carers, and their experiences and interests, inform the development of the guidance and recommendations for social care and the NHS.

All members of the guideline development committee have equal status, which reflects the relevance and importance of their different expertise and experience. The committee includes health and social care practitioners, service providers, and researchers, as well as service user and carer members. All committee members need to attend regular meetings and to prepare for them in advance, including reading relevant papers
