It shows the level of the pressures on the local authority in Oxfordshire.
We have to make the new Minister aware that these are unacceptable pressures and cannot continue.
There has to be “invest to save” funding in Oxfordshire. Children and young people are out of county in residential schools as the local services don’t address their complex needs.
Similarly, we need to enable young people to gain independent living skills locally and to have a range of educational options in Oxfordshire that can really stretch young people- something that the specialist residential colleges have often provided.
Otherwise, families will understandably continue to press for these residential colleges.Everyone should be enabled to reach their full potential.
So how can we do things differently to create those opportunities in Oxfordshire?
