Govt response on the National Minimum Wage for Sleepovers

Many of you will have seen the debate about the financial impacts on care providers who were expected to pay arrears to sleep in staff at the National Minimum Wage. This is the Govt response to providers on this issue.
This was a huge concern for providers, who were worried that it could impact on their ability to survive but it also highlights the chronic under-funding for care staff providing these vital services to people with learning disabilities and other vulnerable people.
The Govt have decided to take a more gradual approach and are providing extra funding to local authorities to help with this.
