Personal Development Practitioner
My World is seeking honest, genuine people to join our team of professionals
supporting adults throughout the Autistic Spectrum with their lives.

We provide a therapeutic environment to support fulfilling lives and are
committed to improving social, emotional and behavioural outcomes for the
people we support.

Salary up to £18,604 - £20,424 per annum depending on qualifications and
experience.

Up to 35 hours a week, would consider part time for the right applicant.
Based in Shirburn near Watlington, South Oxfordshire, with community work
across Oxfordshire

The main role is to help & support our clients with their daily lives and chosen
programmes. This can include:

Achieving greater independence
Friendship, social, emotional and personal development
Daily living skills
Activities such as sports, leisure pursuits and shopping
Attending college and going to work.
Being someone just to talk to: helping the clients feel listened to, respected and understood.
To deliver outreach support, in a person’s home, to clients with
Aspergers syndrome and High functioning autism who may need emotional support and additional assistance with managing social anxiety, mental health and other related conditions.
Experience & qualifications are desirable though not essential, as full training,
including shadowing of current staff can be provided. We value experience,
personality and the ability to work well with people above qualifications.
Requirements:

A good understanding of Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism.
Non-judgemental, sensitive, empathetic, active listener.
Passionate about people – Someone who genuinely cares about people as people, and wants to help improve others’ lives.
Advanced emotional problem-solving and good at making things work
Self-confident in managing on your own, can rely on yourself
Responding to the emotional needs of clients
Empathetic guidance during challenging behaviour
A full UK driving licence is essential, as this post requires travel to-and from activities and the transport of clients.
Situations can sometimes become difficult and challenging, you’ll need to be a sensitive communicator who has a good understanding of how to meet complex needs related to Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and learning disabilities, and the ability to learn new skills.
