Job description: OXSRAD is a unique facility that provides sports and recreation opportunities for those with disabilities. We are a fully equipped sports centre with specialist equipment and a range of full and part-time staff who coach, supervise and encourage those with disabilities to take part in a range of activities such as gym sessions, Young-at-Heart groups, boccia, yoga, disability trampolining, etc. The whole community also use OXSRAD thus ensuring those with disabilities are integrated.

OXSRAD already raises an average of £80,000 a year for our core costs (plus additional funds for capital projects as required). We need someone to take this to a higher (£100,000) and more consistent level ensuring that we can plan new programmes and projects. In addition to running our current programmes, we are about to install a new spa bath and would like to add a therapy pool as well as evaluate the potential for a larger sports hall.

Working with the centre staff, the role will involve identifying, preparing, submitting and tracking appropriate grant applications. Additionally, the person will lead the establishment of other fund-raising opportunities such as open-days, special events, collections, raffles, gifting in wills, corporate sponsorship, on-line giving, etc. The person will be expected to be the “face” of OXSRAD representing us to interested donors. We are looking for someone who is proactive, can identify strongly with our work and who feels they will be able to offer continuity. A DBS check and references will be required.
