Lots of volunteers needed for Stoke Row Steam Rally, 8 & 9 June 2019

In exchange for free entry to the Stoke Row Steam Rally, can you spare a couple of hours for Down’s Syndrome Oxford (DSO) on 8th or 9th June?

Event Venue: Hill Bottom, Whitchurch Hill, near Reading, RG8 7PU
Event Date: 8th and 9th June 2019
Event Website: http://stokerowsteamrally.com/

DSO is the Nominated Charity this year and it’s their main public fundraiser for 2019.

They need lots of volunteers - enough people to do the following on both Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June:

  • man their DSO information stand

  • man the tractor rides - passengers don’t pay fares, but are asked to donate to DSO instead

  • collect donations at the Choir performance (2pm on Saturday 8th) and more generally around the event.

ALL OF THE TAKINGS from the tractor rides will be donated to DSO , so the more time they are able to man, the more money DSO will raise. This is a popular event and in previous years, the official charity has been able to raise a significant sum.

Volunteers will be allocated 2 hour slots (between the hours of 10am and 4pm). When you’ve completed your slot(s) you’ll be free to enjoy the event at your leisure.

Can you, your friends or family spare some time to help on the 8th or the 9th? Please message DSO at fundraising@dsoxford.org.uk and let them know when you could help.

Lastly, the DSO information stand is also allowed to run a fundraising activity . Is there a DSO family (or families) that have a great fund-raising idea that they are able to organise and run at the event? If so, please get in touch with Jos Smith at fundraising@dsoxford.org.uk to explore further.
