Outcome of consultation on charges for some Adult Social Care services
We are writing to let you know the outcome of the recent consultation about proposed changes to charges for some Adult Social Care services.
We understand that changes to charges may cause concern, so this letter explains what has been decided and what will happen next.
Outcome of the consultation
We wrote to you because our records show that you use one or more of the services included in the consultation. We invited you to share your views on proposed changes to how Oxfordshire County Council charges for these services.
Thank you to everyone who shared their views. The Council carefully considered the feedback received before making a decision.
The changes agreed are:
Disability Related Expenditure
The standard Disability Related Expenditure allowance will reduce from 35% to 25%. This is the level that was in place before April 2022.
Adult Social Care transport
A flat charge of £10 per day will be introduced for transport arranged by Adult Social Care. This does not include transport to school.
Telecare services
People who use telecare will be charged the actual cost of the service, which is £9.87 per week.
After considering the consultation feedback, the Council’s Cabinet has agreed to make the changes listed above. These changes will come into effect from 5 October 2026.
These changes will help the Council use its budget fairly, so Adult Social Care services can continue to provide sustainable care and support to people in Oxfordshire.
What happens next?
You do not need to do anything now.
Not all of these changes will affect everyone in the same way. We will write to you again in the next eight weeks to explain exactly what these changes mean for you and the services you use.
That letter will also include information about where you can get advice and support. This may include support from Oxfordshire County Council or from an independent organisation. We want to make sure you know what help is available and that you are receiving anything you are entitled to.
