I hope you are well!

I am writing to you from Transport for All, a pan-impairment organization guided by the belief that all disabled and older people have the right to travel with freedom and independence. We are currently working on a research project to find out how to ensure disabled people are represented as places work to improve the ways we move around. This will enable local authorities and national governments to make better transport plans and ensure disabled people’s views are recognised.

As part of this research, we are holding citizens’ workshops in selected areas in the UK which are working on transformative changes around mobility and transport. These workshops aim to explore these changes and the role disabled people can play in their planning and delivery.

We are looking for disabled people who live and/or regularly travel within the Oxford area to take part in two workshops to discuss changes to transport in Central Oxfordshire with decision makers and officers.

The workshops will take place:

  • In-person on Wednesday 4th September 2024 and Wednesday 22nd January 2025 at an accessible venue in Oxford. Each workshop will last a full day (10am to 4pm) and selected participants will be paid £150 per workshop. Both workshops are compulsory.
  • Online on Wednesday 16th October 2024 and Wednesday 5th March 2025 via Zoom. Each workshop will last half a day (timings yet to be confirmed) and selected participants will be paid £90 per workshop. Both workshops are compulsory.

We are approaching you as a first point of contact as you are a disability organization based in Oxford. We would appreciate it if you could inform your members of this opportunity, as we are keen to recruit participants with a range of different impairments.
